The external auditor is an independent and unbiassed economic expert. His specialized services are mainly mandatory by law but could also called upon on a voluntary basis.
Our office was founded in 1999 and consists of 3 company auditors, Peter Robrechts, Monika Lenaerts and Jens Michiels.
The external auditor is a person of trust, whose main task is to certify the financial statements of companies on behalf of all interested parties, such as shareholders, financial institutions, creditors, the government, etc. In short, of society as a whole.
The external auditor practices his profession honestly and fairly. He avoids any act or attitude that would be contrary to the dignity and rectitude of the profession of company auditor.
The principle of independence is of utmost importance for the faith in the external auditor and is one of the most important principles for the proper performance of auditing assignments.
Among other things, the company auditor must comply with the following maxims:
We perform our assignments in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the standards of our Institute of Auditors.
Besides strong audit knowledge, our office also has strong tax knowledge, both in the field of direct taxes and in the field of VAT legislation. Since 1999, our office has also been active in auditing grants and subsidies awarded by the European Commission and other governmental agencies.
When performing an assignment, our office attaches a great deal of importance to an optimal coordination and open communication between management, the external accountant and the external auditor.
This includes allowing sufficient time, both during and at the conclusion of the audit assignment, to discuss and elaborate on any findings and recommendations that were included in the management letter.
Thanks to the many years of experience of the company auditors of our office, you can rest assured that the assignments you entrust to us will be treated with due care.
